What to Expect When Buying your Valais Blacknose Sheep From Sevton Farm.
As the Valais Blacknose Sheep are currently growing in popularity there are a few facts that you need to consider when looking to buy your Valais Blacknose (or any sheep for that matter) from a breeder.
One of the must haves is grazing, although they look like a cute fluffy teddy, they are still a sheep and have the same requirements as most other sheep with a few extra maintenance jobs.

Once you have decided that Valais Blacknose Sheep are the Breed for you and you can accommodate them, we have tried to make the next step as exciting and easy as possible.
We are completely upfront with what breeding lines we have due and when, we only release this information once the ewes are scanned in lamb.
We do have some 'Recipient ewes' that carry some of our precious cargo but please be re-assured that the temperament of these ewes are paramount, as the lambs can copy their temperament/habits.
You will often see update's of these important mums's having bum scratches and demanding biscuits!
(and yes they do all have names).
Extra Bits.
Once you have chosen your Valais Blacknose lamb/sheep and you are ready to collect them they will all come with a "Certificate of Health" done by our local vets. This will be a basic health check completed after weaning/before sale to give you peace of mind that they are fit and healthy.
They will be up to date with worming, foot care and heptavac P.
You will also receive a "Welcome pack" along with their registration certificate (never purchase one of these sheep without this!) Issued By https://valaisblacknosesociety.co.uk ,some information on how to care for your new Valais Blacknose and a few goodies to help you get started.
Please note that wethers now come with a grassroots registration certificate however they will be listed on grassroots as a 'C' for Castrate.
Please bare in mind that although we have done what we can to assure your new sheep is healthy, we cannot be held accountable for what happens to them once they leave, however we are always on the end of the phone if you have any questions.

Buying a Sheep/Lamb from us.
If there are lines that we have due or a lamb/sheep that you are interested in, we will require a non-refundable deposit of 25% each to secure them for you and the full amount to be paid 24 hours before collection.

Purchasing Embryos/Semen
Buying embryos is fast becoming the way to get your own flock started and having access to a vast selections of bloodlines.
We only sell Grade 1 Embryos, these are graded by experts that flush and store these for us.
The reason this is so important from our point of view is that there is a risk with embryo transfers not being successful and we want to make sure that we are selling the best quality embryos to increase your chances.
The price does not include shipping, the purchaser is liable for any shipping costs that incur after purchase.
Please note that when you buy embryos from us the risk is then down to the purchaser, we will not replace embryos if they are unsuccessful.
Semen that we have available is all frozen, we can give you any information about the quality if you require, all of the rams that we offer semen from have been DNA tested so you can register your Lambs.
